Cabana's Don't Have Doors
 |
I am the proprietor
dressed in white
of a tropical hot spot
it is a small resort
with only one
banana leaf roofed cabana
and a swimming pool
Come vacation alone
service is personal
service is great
when you leave
the hut is cleaned
and the next guest
bides sweet time in the pool
the sun always shines
But what if I should burn the reservation book
build a privacy fence
and call this a home
Would you come to stay?
The sun would be clouded at times
there'd be rain
and lost revenue
perhaps off set by less personal tax
I think I'll close the doors
and sit in that old rush chair
prop my feet up
on a coconut
grab a devil rum drink
with an umbrella
and contemplate,
just contemplate
